I give up.

I'm not typically a "meme" kinda girl, but I'll give in this time due to a complete lack of creativity and, well, in an abrupt and unusual effort to stop nickel and diming myself and maybe, oh, I don't know, SAVE SOME MONEY, I refrained from purchasing my usual Sobe this morning. Which means I'm LAGGING. And it's all for naught because I later bought Starbucks and then Subway and please don't tell my husband. (Money saved: -$10.25)

What are your current obsessions?

Aside from the usual? Reading. Specifically Nora Roberts. I've always loved to read. Well, I've always loved to read romance novels. You should know this about me. I am a sucker. For romance. There, I said it. Don't know why that's so hard to admit. In the last few days I've plowed through Birthright, Tribute, Vision in White, and am currently knee-deep in Midnight Bayou. Not sure why the obsession is Nora Roberts-specific, but there it is.

What’s for dinner?

Leftover roast beef on wheat with lettuce, tomato, pickles, cucumbers, and mustard- courtesy of Subway. I don't cook. You may now feel sorry for The Husband. Actually... scratch that (for reasons aforementioned).

What is your greatest fear at the moment?

My greatest fear will always be one of insects. Don't judge.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Family Guy. I can't help it. I've succumbed.

What is your favorite Spring thing to do?

Spring? What's that? We don't really experience a spring. It kind of just jumps from winter to summer. So, one minute we're freezing cold and the next we're bombarding the beaches and aiming for that perfect shade of skin cancer.

When was the last time you were tipsy?

Okay, I admit it. I had a lemon drop or six while we were bowling on Saturday night. You remember Saturday, right? It was the same day I wrote a post in which I mentioned refraining from alcohol because of my current emotional state and how the two DON'T MIX? Luckily, no breakdown this time. Phew.

What is your favorite ever film?

I can't name one. I could name nine, but most are all, um, romantically inclined and, well... oh, what the hell.

Under the Tuscan Sun
All About Eve
Love Actually
Chocolat
The English Patient
In Her Shoes
The Holiday
Somethings Gotta Give
It Happened One Night

What is your favorite color?

Pink.

cog's addition: Can the people outside your car hear the music playing inside your car?

Yes. And I will soon be deaf.

I know there are rules behind this sort of thing- such as linking back to the person who tagged you and then tagging more people to follow- and I'd like to say that the reason I'm not following the rules (other than to link back to cog, which I already did, but I'll do so again 'cause he's fairly awesome) is because I'm a rebel, but we all know that'd be a lie.

The honest-to-God truth is that I don't want to unintentionally hurt anyone's feelings by leaving them out and clearly I have issues so please just participate if you want to and I hope you all do and then let me know so I can come by and check out your answers.

By the way, I cheated and picked and choosed my questions. Get the complete list here if you're interested.

  5. Nora Roberts is one of my very favorite authors, one of the few who manages to write suspense and romance in an entertaining, clever way. Did you see the Nora Roberts' movies on Lifetime last month? They were pretty good, I especially liked Midnight Bayou. If you haven't seen The Quiet Man, do. Soon.

  6. Thanks for the comment on my blog. It's fun to know real-live people actual read what I write. Yeah, I too have trouble sticking to an exercise plan for the most part. The only time I'm good about it is if I'm paying money for masters swimming and feel like I'm expected to be there. I'm no good at exercising by myself. I even started another blog to hold me accountable when I thought I could just jog on my own. That only lasted a month...maybe.Anyways... rambling comment to say Hi! Nice to make another blogging friend.

  7. I'm also a sucker for romance. I'm not understanding why I haven't read anything by Nora Roberts. This is going to change with a trip to the library. And your photography is amazing!

  8. Rockin, I like your memes. Or things you do that aren't actually memes and I use them as such. I have been reading Nora Roberts since I was like, 10. Yes I know, that's a bit young but I was raised all ass backwards. Plus I was reading by the time I turned 4 so all the books I read were a bit ahead of my age right?

  9. I know how you can get over your fear of insects. You put yourself in a room filled with all kinds of bugs and then get a reclining chair and a pitcher of margaritas and sit back and read a book while they crawl around on you. Then when you wake up from having passed out and find bugs in your mouth and in your hair, you'll be too hungover to panic much. It's a great de-sensitization technique that I just invented.

  10. Good thing it's Nora Roberts. I'm pretty sure she takes up an entire bay at Barnes and Noble. She's a writing machine. And then there's her "alter ego" which I can't think of right now: her crime mysteries.

  11. Theresa, I love her trilogies and I've read both of those. She writes relationships very well. And not just romantic ones, but those between family and friends, as well. Anonymous, I've read her Chesapeake Bay saga. One of my favorites! And I've read the Sandra Brown ones, as well, but a long time ago. Thank you for the recommendations, I'll have to check those out!Gayle, Under the Tuscan Sun is very high on my list of favorites. It's just so beautifully done. Sigh...Flat Creek Farm, glad to hear you're still doing all right!Violet, at the time they were showing the movies, I was all meh. Now I wish I would have seen them. I'll have to check and see if they're being replayed at all.MeganAnne, I love comments and I know others do, as well. Good luck with the workout routine!Megan, please, for the love of chocolate, go read a Nora Roberts book. I hate recommending books 'cause I'm always afraid the other person will hate them, but I feel fairly confident recommending Honest Illusions or Sweet Revenge. Those are two of my all-time faves.MichelleSG, I was 14 when I read my first romance and I thought that was young! Duluk, she is a total machine! It's insane how quickly she writes and produces new books. Her alter ego is JD Robb. I've never read any of those, but I've heard they're good.
