Bright spots.

This list has not been easy. And I swear, I have not been procrastinating. (At least, not this time.) I had hoped this would be a list of things I L.O.V.E. but now? I give up. I'm just not in a lovey dovey kind of mood, so instead here's a list of things that make me happy... however briefly. (Geez, what a pathetic excuse for an introduction. Sorry, peeps.)

1. Farm Frenzy. It's a game. On my phone. I love it.

2. Time Management games in general. (I know. Lame.)

3. Elephants. Specifically in books, when they become their own character. (See Kiss an Angel and Water for Elephants.)

4. Books in general. (Not helping my geek status, am I?)

5. Dexter. (If you ask me in a couple of weeks, I'll probably say True Blood. I'm slowly getting caught up.)

6. Movies. I love going to the movies. (Recently saw The Social Network. Loved it.) (Also saw Life as We Know It. Ugh.)

7. People who make me laugh. My supervisor, a handful of co-workers and friends, my mom. (Sometimes.)

8. Quiet mornings. (These are few and far between.) (Because I'm rarely up early enough.)

9. Quiet, period.

10. Disneyland. They don't call it the Happiest Place on Earth for no good reason.

11. Rain. Of which we've gotten a lot of lately. Of course, I finally put new wiper blades on my car today so I'm sure it'll cease to rain for the next six months.

12. Blogging, other bloggers, Twitter, etc. I love you guys. No, seriously.

13. New socks. I also love socks.

14. Executing a perfectly clever ending to a blog post. (This is not one of those times.)

The end.

  2. Excellent choice for the variation. I'm not much of a lovey covey person either. I'm not sure if that's because I'm unpleasant or because I take the word 'love' too seriously. Great list!

  3. No baking? Don't hang up your spatula just yet! Or your camera. Is there anything more passingly pleasing than the perfectly baked cookie, or the magnificent macro shot? I say passingly because eventually the cookies get eaten and guilt sets in, or the photo gets compared to other bloggers' photos and insecurity sets in.....

  4. I love time management games, too! I am obsessed.

  5. have you thought about becoming a librarian? we need passionate readers with tech skills. it's way more than shelving and checking out books.

  6. I'm reading....and reading...and I notice....no Twilight....no Edward? The universe is out of alignment.....are you feeling alright? :)

Love True Blood! I'm getting caught up on this season now. I'm about half way through it. Thank god for DVR's! How far are you? Also, what exactly is a time management game? <3 L

  8. I haven't even started the second season yet! That's how far behind I am. (I miss my DVR.) Now, I insist you Google "diner dash" and play immediately. Best (time management) game ever.

  9. Ha! Yes, perfectly alright. I guess I only added the things that are currently making me happy and, well, I'm not currently reading Twilight. I know. I should remedy that fact immediately.

  10. I knew I wasn't alone!

  11. Hm. Don't you have to have some sort of knowledge and understanding of the Dewey Decimal system to be a librarian?

  12. LOL Too true... to all of the above. Eventually, baking and photography will again be a part of my life. In the meantime, socks.

  13. Thank you... and, lady, I would not go so far as to say you're "unpleasant" Maybe just... realistic. ;)

  14. Not this time. But! My happy list changes constantly. He's been on it before and he'll be on it again.Speaking of Rob, I just heard he's playing Jacob Jankowski (the lead role) in the movie Water for Elephants and they're already talking Oscar nomination. Crazy, huh?

  21. I know. It's been almost a month.

  22. Maybe we should just use her comments page as a springboard for an informal chat room about nothing and everything.Do you think Stephanie would feel lost and excluded and out of control of her own site?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I think she'd be quite thrilled actually.

    ReplyDelete
  24. There you are.Wassup?You OK?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think it could be fun. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Missed you on here... Did you know I check every other day to see if you have posted!! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  27. FUN??Are you kidding??It's gonna be thrilling. Let's start with Stephanie's baking. I think she should have made it a business looooonng ago- it all looks incredible. Start small, maybe even stay small but-She needs to just DO it. What say you Christine?(can't you just feel her hovering, waiting, and looking at this, tap tapping her nails impatiently, maybe even angrily, on a kitchen counter somewhere thinking- was oceandoggy born an asshole or did he have to work at it?)HA!

  28. I have a lot of catching up to do on your blog...This is a good list of simple pleasures, I love #3 and True Blood is also awesome :) And #10? Definitely my happy place!

    ReplyDelete
  29. LMAO!! I actually can picture that very thing!! ;) And yes, she should turn her baking into a business. Her baked goods come out wonderful and look so beautiful. If only she had a way.

    ReplyDelete
  30. um, er, kinda forget her blog. Stephanie's fallen asleep and now you're caught up in the idiot whirlwind that is a comments page skewing wildly out of control- kinda like a drunk on an icy road.Ain't that right Christine? amhealy?I'm glad you bake and make a business of it- you gotta let Stephanie know it's OK to do stuff outside her comfort zone. And I'm hopin' she's at least still reading her commandeered comments and not just jabbing pins into her oceandoggy doll.Is this fun or what?

    ReplyDelete
  31. How did you know about the oceandoggy doll??

    ReplyDelete
  32. You guys are so strange.

    ReplyDelete
  33. We're not strange. We're you're caring peeps, (right Christine?) trying to pull you back out into the light so you don't spend all your days huddled and unwashed in some dank darkness of your embitteredness. And, hey, stop pushing the pins in my kidneys- they're killin' me.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Dude. HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS STUFF?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Maybe the doll has eyes!! ;)

  37. Hellooooooooooo.I'm nothing if not annoyingly persistent.I know (or at least I THINK) you're reading my nonsense- so come on out and play.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well.So that's it. I guess.I don't want to keep pushing you, so I guess I'll just check out.Have a nice life.Hasta manana.

  48. Here I am, contributing to the 50.Dude, write something. Anything. What do you eat for breakfast? Does that sound stalker-y? Tell us what you eat for breakfast, Stephanie. We all want to know.(I have no explanation other than the fact that I'm getting very little sleep these days.)

  49. Yup.I guess that's what we're doing.Whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  50. You just wanted to be #50. Attention whore.

    ReplyDelete
  51. So this is where you've been hiding out! Do you have any Hershey's Bars? Popcorn? scary movies? Wait, that sounds WAY too much like the *shudder* sleepovers I did in jr high where if you fell asleep first your bra got frozen. I hated those things. Probably why I didn't get invited to too many of them. Hm

    ReplyDelete
  52. I don't even EAT breakfast. How can I write a whole post about something I don't do?! God, this is stressing me out.

    ReplyDelete
  53. This takes me back. I had a sleepover once in, I don't know, 6th grade? A group of girls came over and as soon as the first one fell asleep, we put her hand in a cup of warm water to see if she'd pee her pants. She woke up, saw what we were doing, and started to cry. I felt, still feel, like a total shit for that.

  54. That's MR. Attention Whore to you.C'mon babe, write something besides a comment.Let's go.
